About Unico auto repair

Muffler & mechanic

Unico auto repair is an auto repair shop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 105 W Erie Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as muffler shop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (267) 761-4137. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 165 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The guy who did my oil change was very professional, also very handsome. I wish I could remember his name. Everyone there was nice. The prices are reasonable. Overall I had a good experience.

Don’t recommend. For high end cars . Got some down pipes n intake’s installed. So I paid 500 , said they made a mistake and was post to charge me 1000+ okay bam they put the intakes in wrong . They said they did that for free which I found weird . They charged me 200 to take them out and put my stock in smh . Not only that , they put new down pipes in and the old 02 sensors on new down pipes when the new ones was next to the down pipes . Gonna try and charge me 500 to install them rip offs if you ask me I drive a 17 q50 red sport too . It’s just crazy how I work hard for the money I spent to end up with check engine lights on from them doing what they want

The new shop over on Hunting park Ave where the old pepboys used to be is off to a great start. They serviced my old jeep grand Cherokee it was having some front end issues with the tie rods and Lower ball joints I needed an overhaul. Needless to say the team here at Unico went to work ! Immediately they knew what had to be done along with another list of problems under the hood the gaskets were leaking so I got them replaced to the oil pan and valve over gasket my car had a lot of rust too from sitting they took care of that as well left the car running like a top. He advised me not to leave it sitting and to change the fluids frequently despite the age of the jeep it’s running better than ever. I highly recommend the new crew over here at the 2nd shop a lot closer to home for me and the price was reasonable I go as much as I could Afford done. Again thanks Jeison and Luis for the attention to details and the proper fixing of the problems.

I’ve been getting my vehicle serviced by unico for the past 3 year and today on September 20th i noticed my timing belt tensioner was failing on me causing my engine to overheat and all I had to do was one simple phone call and they had me come in within 10 minutes prior to the phone call and serviced my vehicle right away in a quick and professional manner. I highly recommend my friends and family get their vehicles serviced by unico if they are looking for great prices, professionalism and outstanding service. To the mechanics in the shop you are all highly appreciated and I will be seeing y’all next week 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
